U.S. President Donald Trump announced the dispatch of five thousand American military personnel to Poland and linked it to the election victory of Karol Nawrocki, which took place as recently as last year.
Trump wrote in Truth Social.
"Based on the successful election of current Polish President Karol Nawrocki, whom I was proud to support, and our relationship with him, I am pleased to announce that the United States will send an additional 5,000 troops to Poland," Trump said.
The other day, Polish President Karol Nawrocki said that Poland was ready to accept American troops if Trump decided to reduce their presence in Germany.
It is well known that Trump has decided to reduce the number of troops in Europe, particularly in Germany. This is due to several factors, one of which is the unwillingness of NATO allies to support the United States in the war with Iran.
The second reason is that the head of the White House considers the spending of European partners on collective defense insufficient - he insisted on a figure of 5% of GDP, but not all partners adhere to this figure.
