Trump Called Netanyahu On The Phone

Discussed the situation in Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump discussed the war in Iran by phone, the Israeli prime minister's office told Times of Israel.

The conversation took place on the eve of a closed-door security meeting in Israel, the publication said.

Netanyahu announced plans to call Trump during

a government meeting in honor of Jerusalem Day on May 17. "I will certainly listen to his impressions of his trip to China, and perhaps also his opinion on other issues. There are plenty of options; we are ready for any scenario," he said.

On May 16, The New York Times, citing sources among officials in Middle Eastern countries, reported that the United States and Israel are making stepped-up preparations for new strikes against Iran. The plan, according to the publication, includes more aggressive bombing of Iran's military facilities and infrastructure. It was developed in case Trump decides to break the "deadlock" in negotiations with Iran through a new wave of attacks.

The US president said the conflict in Iran is militarily 70-75% complete. He promised that the US would "go back and finish it."
