U.S. Gives Iran Five Retaliatory Conditions For Resuming Talks

Washington has demanded that Tehran hand over all enriched uranium.

In response to Tehran's five conditions, without fulfillment of which it will not proceed to the second round of peace talks, Washington has put forward five of its own demands, they are quoted by Iran's Fars news agency.

The US conditions include:

denial of any compensation and damage payments by the US;

removal and transfer of 400 kilograms of Iranian uranium to the US;

maintenance of the operation of only one set of Iran's nuclear facilities;

refusal to unfreeze even 25% of Iranian assets;

stoppage of hostilities on all fronts.

The agency noted that even if these conditions are met by Iran, the threat of aggression by the US and Israel will remain.

This week, Iran put forward its five conditions for the resumption of talks. Among them:

the end of the war on all fronts, especially in Lebanon;

the lifting of anti-Iran sanctions;

the unfreezing of Iranian funds;

compensation for battle damage;

recognition of Iran's right to sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

"The set of these conditions are defined solely within the framework of creating minimum confidence to return to the negotiation process, and Tehran believes that it is impossible to enter into new negotiations without the practical fulfillment of these points," the Iranian side said in a statement.
