Budanov Assessed The Prospect Of Mobilization From The Age Of 18 In Ukraine

Recruiting volunteers will not give the army the number of military men it needs.

If Ukraine mobilizes young people aged 18-25, the government will destroy the future of its state and an entire generation, so this option is not being considered yet.

The head of the Ukrainian President's Office Kyryl Budanov said this for The Times.

"Our side needs human capital, I would like to say, but in the end it would be fair to call it human resource. Recruitment of volunteers is impossible to cover the number needed for the army. Basically, for that many people, after 12.5 years of war, there is nothing to volunteer for. This is an international, internal war, that is, everyone is involved in defending Ukraine's sovereignty and independence," the official said.

Therefore, according to Budanov, it is impossible without mobilization in such a case.

"The fact that, as they say, it looks bad in places, I agree with that. We are trying to fight it, and I am working on it," the OP head said.

At the same time, he admitted that as long as there is a military regime and mobilization, such cases will still occur.

The head of the OP also answered about the mobilization of people aged 18-25, which has been discussed for a long time.

"If we simply take away all young people aged 18-25 through the mechanism of mobilization, we will destroy the very future of our state, the entire generation," Budanov concluded.
