Radoslaw Sikorski: Putin Has Lost The Battle For The Black Sea

Ukraine has stabilized the fronts.

The stabilization of the front by Ukraine and the victory of pro-democratic forces in Hungary, among other things, make Russian dictator Vladimir Putin seriously think about how long he can still wage war against Ukraine. This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski at a discussion at the PISM Strategic Ark conference together with the Ukrainian foreign minister, writes "European Pravda".

The politician noted that Ukraine's partners should immediately adjust to the fact that the war may last a long time.

"It is important that the enemy knows that Ukraine is ready to fight on and we are ready to continue supporting it. I think the fact that Ukraine has stabilized the fronts and Europe is coming out of paralysis thanks to the brilliant victory of the pro-democracy forces in Hungary now forces Putin to change his calculations - whether he can fight this war for another two years. And it's really a question of whether he can," he noted.

Sikorski said that if Putin could still resort to serious escalation, he would do so, but there are not many options left.

"But he is now losing more soldiers than he can recruit. He has lost the battle for the Black Sea. His air force has no advantage in Ukrainian skies, and the economy is starting to get really bad. ... He has to recognize that his original goals of the war cannot be achieved - and then he will be ready for real negotiations," the Polish foreign minister said.
