There was an incident on board the airplane.

May 7, there was an incident with a passenger on the Belavia flight Minsk - Antalya: a man was smoking in the toilet room and did not respond to the crew's remarks. Details of the incident Smartpress was told in the press service of the air carrier.

They specified that the smoke detector went off on board. In addition, the offender was drinking alcohol, while other passengers of the flight complained about his behavior.

"Ensuring flight safety, maintaining a calm atmosphere on board is a priority task of the airline," commented in Belavia.

According to the decision of the crew, local police were called to the plane in advance. Law enforcers met the board after arrival and immediately went into the cabin. The airline specified that the whole process took no more than 10 minutes.

Belavia reminded: smoking, use of electronic smoking systems and systems for tobacco consumption is prohibited throughout the flight, as well as on the territory of the airfield. E-cigarettes can be carried only in hand luggage to eliminate the risk of fire in the luggage compartment due to overheating of devices or spontaneous activation of heating elements.

Belavia's website also states that during the flight one can't drink alcohol, except for drinks offered by the crew.

It should be noted that in October 2024, Belavia began to maintain its own register of unreliable passengers. The airline then explained that the reason for discussing such a measure was, among other things, the incident on the flight Minsk - Antalya in 2021: a passenger attacked a flight attendant, clashed with other passengers and did not respond to the crew's comments.
