Pashinyan Responds To Putin's Words On Armenia's Choice Between EU And EAEU

Intermarriage should not be confused with marriage.

Armenia has no plans to bring up the issue of participation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) until the need arises, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said, commenting on Vladimir Putin's remarks, Armenpress.

Speaking at a press approach on May 9, Putin said Yerevan should decide as early as possible on whether to participate in the EU or the EAEU. "In accordance with this, we would also make the appropriate conclusions and follow the path of a soft, such an intelligent divorce and mutually beneficial divorce," he said.

Pashinyan responded by saying that "we sometimes confuse interstate relations with marriage."

"Armenia is guided by interstate logic in interstate relations. We are a full-fledged member of the EAEU, and as long as we are a member of the EAEU, we fully participate in all decision-making processes, and I once again say that until the need arises, we will not put this issue on the agenda," Pashinyan told reporters."
