In the State Council of Tatarstan there was a scandal over the Russian language. Several deputies harshly criticized the Deputy Minister of Culture Yulia Adgamova.
The reason for the meeting was significant - Tatarstan was preparing to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the birth of the poet Gabdulla Tukai.
The tone of the discussion was set by the leader of the republican communists Khafiz Mirgalimov. The politician was outraged by the very fact that the report was made in Russian. He emotionally expressed his position in Tatar.

"The Ministry of Culture organizes such an important event - not a single word in Tatar," the MP was outraged. - Gabdulla Tukay is our Pushkin, our culture. We grew up on his poems. Not a single Tatar word has been said! You can't do that - we have bilingualism!"
Later he was joined by the unanimous MP Azat Khamayev. His claim to the official sounded even more sharply. The speaker, in his opinion, "does not know a single word of Tatar and will not learn it." After that, the politician asked a question: why even the slides for the presentation were not translated into the state language of the republic? In addition, the parliamentarian saw disrespect in the fact that such an important topic was presented not by the head of the department, but by her deputy.
"Such disrespect to such an event - the 140th anniversary. It is necessary for the minister to speak," Khamayev said.
