Washington eased sanctions against Russia due to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The United States has reinstated oil sanctions against Russia following a temporary easing due to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by the Ukrainian President’s Representative on Sanctions Policy Vladislav Vlasyuk in a comment RBC-Ukraine published on June 26.
On June 16, U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that Washington might soon tighten restrictions on Russian oil. According to him, Washington had previously lifted some of the restrictions because it did not want to hinder oil supplies.
“U.S. oil sanctions against Rosneft and Lukoil remain in effect,” Vlasyuk said.
