The President of the United States responded to a direct question.

US President Donald Trump has openly admitted that the US is now focused on Iran, not Ukraine.

According to Forbes, Trump said this in response to a question from reporters.

What Trump said about Ukraine

When asked directly about the peace talks, the US president did not give a specific answer.

"Ukraine is moving forward. I would like them to be able to reach an agreement. Frankly, a lot of people are dying in Ukraine. We'll see what happens," he said.

Iran is a priority

Trump was blunt about where his focus is right now.

"Right now we're very focused on Iran, seeing if we can complete that," he said.

He said the agreement with Iran would be "without nuclear weapons." He also said the stock market is in good shape and oil prices are falling - which he considers positive signals.

Simultaneously, Trump said he met with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Lebanon's president. He said both sides were ready for a truce that would also affect Hezbollah.

Iran talks continue

When asked about a specific timeline for the next round of talks, Trump was vague.

"They're all important. So it's not a matter of one round. All of them are next," the US president said.
