The U.S. will continue its military operation against Iran.
President Donald Trump said the war against Iran is over, but the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively blocked. Against this background, the US has also announced a blockade of Iranian ports.
What have the US and Israel already achieved in Iran during the operation? How can events in the Middle East develop further?
About this, Charter97.org spoke to Ukrainian political technologist, managing partner of the National Anti-Crisis Group Taras Zagorodniy:
- The U.S. is not going anywhere from Iran, don't listen to what some media say. Look what is happening: the Americans are moving additional troops, the operation will continue.
The United States has now declared a blockade of Iran to collapse the economy, and this regime of the ayatollahs is weakened, mired in its disputes. America is moving paratroopers, preparing for operations and additional strikes. They have shut down the oil from Iran, it will not go to China. Most likely, if they allow Iran to trade oil, it will go, for example, to India.
All continues, no one stops anything, the U.S. will press Iran further. The minimum task is to open the Strait of Hormuz, which is what they are doing. Convoys are on their way, destroyers have been tested. Iran does not dare to touch them, because it realizes that they will be blown up there.
The US continues to eliminate the leadership of the IRGC, the leadership of the army is not touched, because the Americans want to solve the issues they need. The minimum is for there to be peace and to destroy Iran's nuclear potential. This requires periodically bombing targets in Iran. That is the task the US has. Trump still has time, no one is stopping anywhere, the attack on Iran continues.
The fact that there are some seemingly contradictory statements is not contradictory statements, it's not contradictory statements, it's smoke, it's a disguise, it's a constant tearing of the Iranian leadership itself, which does not know what will happen now.
- Is there any chance that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened in the near future?
- The probability is very high. That is why the U.S. declared the blockade. So that Iran will have a problem with food importation and will be unable to maintain its economy. The US is waiting for Iran's economy to collapse.
Trump has time. It is necessary for oil prices to drop to $60, which is somewhere around mid-July to early August. So that for the congressional elections he already has a low oil price. So for a month they can still quietly continue the operation.
