A Fundraiser Has Been Announced To Honor The Memory Of "Charter-97" Journalist Konstantin Ivanov
Konstantin Ivanov

Our colleague passed away on October 24.

Friends and family of “Charta-97” journalist Konstantin Ivanov, who died after a serious illness, are raising money for his funeral in Warsaw, his cremation, and all the formalities involved in transporting his ashes and honoring his memory in Belarus.

“We are grateful for every donation. If you cannot contribute financially, please share this fundraiser. Sometimes a single forwarded link reaches the right person and changes everything”, the post reads.

Konstantin Ivanov passed away on October 24. Our colleague was 40 years old.
In the 2000s, Konstantin was one of the most prominent activists in the “Zubr” movement and the “European Belarus” civic campaign in Vitebsk. He was repeatedly detained by security forces during protests.

After the 2010 presidential “elections,” he moved to Poland and worked as a journalist for the website Charter97.org.

Kostya was a kind and caring person, always ready to help; he knew how to enjoy life and loved Belarus dearly. We have lost not just a colleague, but a friend. We will always miss him.

We extend our sincere condolences to Konstantin’s family and loved ones.
