Volkswagen Has Unveiled An Affordable Electric Sedan With A Range Of Up To 555 Km

The most affordable version costs just over $12,000.

The FAW-Volkswagen joint venture has launched pre-sales of the Jetta M6 electric sedan in China. This was reported by CarNewsChina.

The car’s dimensions are 4806×1868×1895 mm (length/width/height), and its wheelbase is 2820 mm.

The base model is equipped with a 42.9 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 465 km. The 152 k.s. electric motor allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.

The Jetta M6 555 Max and Jetta M6 555 Ultra are equipped with a 51.9 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 555 km. Both versions feature a 194 k.s. electric motor.

The Jetta M6’s interior follows contemporary trends typical of most mass-market Chinese sedans. The car comes standard with a 15.6-inch center display, an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster, and several physical controls.

The Jetta M6’s main selling point is its very affordable price (at least for the Chinese market), which starts at $12,000. That’s roughly the same price as the tiny Wuling Bingo city electric car.
