The Head Of Bugatti Unveiled His Dream Car

This is a spectacular BMW customization.

Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac has unveiled the car he has long called his dream car. It turned out to be far from a modern hypercar—rather, a classic BMW E30 with a massive V10 engine, according to Autoblog.

Under the hood of this car is a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V10 S85 from the BMW E60 M5. Judging by his reaction, this conversion impressed even the man behind some of the world’s fastest electric cars.

“It fits perfectly,” said Rimac, peeking under the hood of the car. The car belongs to Jim Amelinkus, who shared the unusual design on Instagram.

In addition to the engine, the BMW was equipped with a custom intake system featuring a conical air filter and a roll cage in the cabin. The E30 itself holds a special place in Rimac’s life story.

Even before his success in the electric hypercar industry, he built his own BMW E30, converting it into an electric car called the e-M3. The car produced about 600 horsepower and accelerated to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. The project subsequently set five Guinness and FIA world records.

Rimak’s love for BMW hasn’t gone anywhere. His personal collection includes several generations of the M3 and M5, as well as a Z4 M Coupe. However, there isn’t yet a V10-powered E30 in the entrepreneur’s garage.

According to the publication, this particular combination could become one of the most spectacular versions of the classic BMW E30.
