The Airport In Warsaw Was Evacuated On Short Notice

Bomb disposal experts are checking for possible explosives.

On the evening of September 15 in Warsaw, part of Chopin Airport was evacuated following a report of abandoned luggage. Bomb squads are currently examining it.

This was reported by TVN24.

The police received the report of the unattended luggage a few minutes before 7:00 p.m. Afterward, the relevant services were called to the scene to inspect the item.

Pavel Khmura, a spokesperson for the Warsaw Police, stated that the Border Guard is conducting a bomb disposal assessment to determine whether the luggage poses a threat.

Due to the incident, people were evacuated from Departure Terminals A and B. Passengers were also moved out of the arrivals area at Entrance A1.

In addition, vehicle traffic in the departure area was temporarily suspended. According to the police, only city buses continued to operate there.

The press office of Chopin Airport confirmed that baggage screening is ongoing. Airport spokesperson Piotr Rudzki noted that part of the terminal was evacuated precisely because of unattended luggage.

However, the airport did not specify how many people had to be evacuated.

Currently, bomb disposal experts are examining the abandoned luggage and will determine whether it poses a real threat.
