A Russian Plane Ran Out Of Fuel While In Flight

I had to make an emergency landing.

A plane operated by the Russian airline Pobeda made an emergency landing in Samara due to a fuel shortage. The flight from Vladikavkaz to Moscow had already been delayed by more than 14 hours.

The flight departed late at 11:35 p.m. Minsk time and, three hours later, was forced to land at Kurumoch Airport—all because of critically low fuel levels after the pilots had to fly through Kazakhstan due to a drone hazard warning issued in those regions, according to Mash.

In Samara, passengers remained seated on the plane for nearly three hours before being allowed to disembark at the airport. The departure for Moscow was initially scheduled for 7:50 a.m. but was later rescheduled for 3:00 p.m.

Meals—water and a sausage with pasta—were provided to passengers only after a 13-hour wait. The airline did not provide overnight accommodations.
