There are casualties.
As a result of strong winds with gusts of up to 24 m/s that occurred on August 22, in the Grodno Region the roofs of one residential building, eight agricultural and two administrative buildings were damaged; in the Minsk Region, the roof of one residential building and two agricultural structures were damaged. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Two children were injured in the Minsk Region due to falling trees. A 12-year-old boy was injured near Nesvizh and was hospitalized. Near the village of Markovshchina in the Minsk District, a 10-year-old child was injured; after receiving medical care at a healthcare facility, the child was referred for outpatient treatment.
A total of 488 cases of fallen trees were recorded: 27 in the Brest Region, 59 in the Vitebsk Region, 134 in the Grodno Region, 233 in the Minsk Region, 8 in the Mogilev Region, and another 27 in Minsk.
The fallen trees damaged 15 passenger cars: two each in the Brest and Minsk regions, three in the Grodno region, four in the Vitebsk region, and two more in Minsk. EMERCOM personnel, together with other services, were cutting up and removing the fallen trees.
Due to the inclement weather, power outages occurred periodically in some settlements—emergency crews are promptly resolving any outages that arise.
