On Thursday, July 30, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with military leaders. During the meeting, the parties discussed the situation on the front lines, countering Russian ballistic missiles, and strengthening Ukraine’s air defense.
Following the briefings, the Ukrainian president announced an update to the list of priority targets for new medium-range strikes against enemy facilities. He shared the details on his Telegram channel.
New Defense Decisions
The head of state heard a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty, Chief of the General Staff Ihor Skibyuk, Acting Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yevhen Khmara, and Deputy Head of the Office of the President and Brigadier General Pavlo Palisa.
“We discussed in detail the challenges currently arising from Russia’s tactics of ballistic missile strikes and our ability to counter these tactics at both the military and diplomatic levels. We identified solutions and technical steps, as well as asymmetric measures, that can provide Ukraine with greater protection,” the statement said.

The Ukrainian leader added that they separately reviewed the operational situation on the front lines, particularly in the Slavyansk and Konstantinovsk directions. The participants also discussed the operation of the Ukrainian maritime export corridor, specifically “what has already been done in this regard and what action plan will still be implemented.”

The President announced new strikes on medium-range targets
Zelenskyy also thanked the military and units involved in carrying out the strategy of long-range strikes against Russia.
“Our operation to carry out medium-range strikes against Russian forces and positions in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine—particularly in our Crimea—is continuing. We have updated the list of top priorities for precision strikes. I have instructed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strengthen communication and coordination with military leadership in countries across our region. Teams from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the Office will work with our partners in Europe who can assist with the supply of missiles for air defense,” the statement notes.

The President of Ukraine reported that the General Staff is currently working on implementing a number of systemic changes. According to him, these changes are intended to improve the assessment of the situation on the front lines, accelerate the response to changes in the combat situation, and expand the brigades’ capabilities to effectively counter Russian assault operations.
“I thank all the units that are truly holding Ukraine’s positions and preventing the occupying army from achieving the objectives set for it by Russia’s political leadership. Glory to Ukraine!” Zelenskyy concluded.
