Polish Defense Minister: We Are Just Meters Away From War

The crash of the Russian rocket has once again shown that the situation is serious.

Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, in connection with the incident involving a missile that fell in the Lublin Voivodeship, emphasized that a war is being waged near Poland—a war that some “no longer want to see.”

The statement by the head of the Polish Defense Ministry is reported by RMF 24.

As Kosiniak-Kamysz noted, this incident proves once again that “the situation is serious.”

“It’s just a few meters that separate us from this war, and this night proves once again—not to those sitting at this table, not to the commanders, not to the firefighters, not to the police—but to all of us once again that the situation is very serious. The situation is such that it poses a threat, and the emergency services and armed forces are ready to make any decisions necessary to protect the Republic and its citizens,” Kosinyak-Kamysh emphasized.

He also noted that the emergency services’ response plan had proven effective.

“This is an absolute priority for us: analyzing the situation, sharing information, and making decisions. This is the operational plan that was approved and once again proved its effectiveness last night,” he said, noting also that all agencies are integrated—including the armed forces, the police, the fire department, and the intelligence services.

According to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, all evidence currently points to the fact that last night in the Lublin Voivodeship a Russian X-101 cruise missile crashed.
