Ukraine Will Consider The Possibility Of Opening A Criminal Case Against Lukashenko

Zelenskyy's office has appealed to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Criminal proceedings against Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko may be initiated in Ukraine. The first step has been taken.

The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appealed to Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko. The goal is to explore the possibility of initiating proceedings against Lukashenko. The corresponding letter was made public on July 28.

In May, Belarusian opposition figures wrote a letter to Zelenskyy asking him to hold Lukashenko accountable for:
war crimes,
genocide,
and state-sponsored terrorism.

Lukashenko is accused of:
aiding Russia’s war against Ukraine,
the forced transport of at least 2,442 Ukrainian children to Belarus under a program documented by the Yelska Humanitarian Research Laboratory.

On July 28, Oleg Tatarov, deputy head of the Public Chamber, reported that the petition had been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office with a request to “take appropriate measures” if there were legal grounds to do so.
