Lukashenko Took Offense At The Uzbeks

The dictator advised them to look for "big money" in Russia.

Lukashenko noted that the president of Uzbekistan had asked him not only to provide employment for his citizens, but first and foremost to supply meat and milk, according to BelTA.

“They don’t have enough land; they don’t have water (insufficient water resources—Ed.). We have plenty of both land and water. We can produce meat and milk,” he said, adding that the parties had agreed to bring workers from Uzbekistan to Belarus in order to resolve the issue of supplying the necessary agricultural products more quickly and effectively.

At the same time, Lukashenko pointed out that if anyone intends to go to Belarus to earn “huge amounts of money”—the equivalent of several thousand dollars—they would be better off considering, for example, the option of finding employment in Russia.

“If you don’t need people from abroad—don’t take them. I’m not forcing you to take them,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.

As a reminder, a week ago a video appeared online, recorded by migrant workers from Uzbekistan, in which they complained about the $500 salary they were offered, while, according to them, they had to pay for their own housing and meals. They stated that under such conditions, they were prepared to turn down the job and return to their homeland.
