Trump made this statement.
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that tomorrow, June 14, the US and Iran will sign an agreement to end the war, and immediately thereafter the Strait of Hormuz will be open to all.
Trump wrote about this on the social network Truth Social.
He emphasized that his agreement with Iran would be the “opposite” of the agreement concluded by Barack Obama and constitutes a “barrier to the absence of nuclear weapons.”
“In fact, they (the Iranian authorities—ed.) no longer want to have nuclear weapons and will not have them, whether through purchase, development, or any other form of acquisition. The agreement is scheduled to be signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Strait of Hormuz will be open to all,” the U.S. president stated.
Trump also noted that his administration’s relations with Iran are very different from those of previous administrations and are much better.
“Unlike the hundreds of billions of dollars that Obama paid them (Iran—ed.), including $1.7 billion in cash, no money will be handed over from hand to hand. At the appropriate time, when everything has calmed down, we will retrieve the nuclear dust buried deep beneath massive granite mountains, thanks to our beautiful B-2 bombers and their brilliant pilots, and destroy it, whether in Iran or in the United States,” the statement also reads.
Trump expressed hope that cooperation with Iran would be quick and easy, adding that otherwise, “we have a better alternative, which we hope will never be used again.”
