Details.

On Friday, June 12, Swedish Air Force fighter jets were scrambled twice to intercept Russian aircraft near Swedish airspace over the Baltic Sea.

This was stated in a press release from the Swedish Armed Forces, which they published on the social network X.

According to reports, rapid response teams conducted two sorties in JAS 39 Gripen multi-role fighters after detecting Russian aircraft in the region.

Russian Su-24 and Su-34 aircraft were detected in two separate incidents. After receiving the alert, Swedish fighter jets promptly took off to identify and escort the Russian aircraft.

The statement emphasized that there was no violation of the country’s airspace. The fighter jets’ actions were aimed at protecting the airspace and monitoring activity near Sweden’s borders.
