Ukrainian Anti-aircraft Gunners Set A Record For The Longest Distance At Which A Target Was Hit Using The "Osa" Air Defense System

A video captured this unique event.

Service members of the 1129th Belotserkovsk Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment set a new record for the longest range at which an aerial target was destroyed using the “Osa” anti-aircraft missile system—12,900 meters.

According to Censor.NET, Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners demonstrated exceptional skill by hitting an enemy aerial target at a distance of nearly 13 kilometers.

It is believed that the air defense missile system may have undergone the Ukrainian “Bdzhola 2” modernization program, which involves replacing analog instruments with digital ones, as well as upgrading the electronics, radar station, and control and guidance systems.

These technical modifications are intended to improve the system’s effectiveness against small-sized aerial targets. However, information regarding the modernization of this specific SAM system has not yet been confirmed.
