The successful strike slowed down the production of components for cruise and ballistic missiles.
On the night of November 7, the missile forces, using “Neptune” coastal missile systems, struck the Russian defense industry enterprise "Proton-Elektrotex" in Orel in the Orel Region.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of the strikes, a direct hit was confirmed; a fire broke out on the facility’s grounds, and explosions were heard. The extent of the damage is being assessed.
Proton-Elektrotex JSC is a leading Russian manufacturer of optoelectronic equipment and devices with a full production cycle. The company’s products include modules for “Kover” air-launched cruise missiles and inverter switches for 9M723 ballistic missiles of the “Iskander-M” tactical missile system, among others.
The destruction of the facility complicates the production of components for cruise and ballistic missiles, which the Russian military is using to strike Ukrainian cities.
