The U.S. Secret Service detained a man near the White House who was in possession of three firearms. He claimed that he was hearing voices telling him to come to Washington and kill Trump.

This was reported by the Associated Press.

The arrest took place on the evening of Thursday, November 5. Secret Service agents approached the man, who was acting suspiciously in a parked car.

According to U.S. officials, the suspect said he was hearing voices in his head. They allegedly instructed him to travel to the capital and kill the president.

It soon became clear that the car had been reported stolen. Three firearms and dozens of rounds of ammunition were found inside.

The suspect’s name is Ronnie Jordriks Guanipa Chinos. According to the Department of Homeland Security, he is an immigrant from Venezuela who is in the U.S. illegally. He entered the country via Texas in March 2024.

He has already been charged and is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

The White House did not comment on the situation, referring questions to the Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service.

This is not the first time threats against Trump’s life have been made.
