Turkmenistan Has Introduced An Electronic Visa For Belarusians

You don't need an invitation now.

On October 1, Turkmenistan introduced an electronic visa (e-Visa) that allows foreigners to enter the country and also to transit through it. This was reported by reported by the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan.

The Migration Service stated that the new digital service will help foreign citizens save time: document processing has been transitioned to an electronic format, and all procedures can be completed quickly and through a simplified process.

As noted by the Belarusian Republican Union of Tour Operators, foreign tourists previously required an official invitation approved by the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan. In practice, this meant that anyone wishing to visit the country had to contact a local licensed travel agency.

Now, an invitation is no longer required. A standard visa is processed within 7 business days, an urgent visa is issued in 3 days, and an express visa can be obtained in 24 hours. The cost depends on the type of visa and the processing time.
