In The Grodno Region, A Man Opened Fire On Lukashenko's Police

A 65-year-old resident of the Ostrovets District fired a hunting rifle.

In the village of Staraya Rudnya in the Ostrovets District, law enforcement officers arrived at the home of a 65-year-old local resident who was in possession of an unregistered hunting rifle and who, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, had threatened his neighbors with it. The man opened fire on the officers and was “neutralized,” according to the police department.

Members of the “Cyclone” special forces unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Internal Troops arrived at the scene.

“Upon seeing the law enforcement officers, the aggressive man offered armed resistance and fired a shot at the officers, posing a real threat to the lives and health of those around him. The unlawful actions were promptly suppressed by members of the special unit: lethal force was used, and the assailant was neutralized,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

A homemade firearm was discovered during a search of his home.
