Thousands Of Belarusians Have Found Themselves Unable To Order A "Yandex Taxi"

The reaction of the state-run media is surprising.

As a result of an attack by Ukrainian drones the infrastructure of the Yandex data center in Vladimir, Russia, was damaged. As a result, the “Yandex GO” taxi-hailing service is currently down. This has sparked outrage among users. Here’s how the state media reacted.

The state-run agency “Minsk-Novosti” was the first among state media outlets to report on this issue. “A number of Yandex services, including the taxi service, were not working in Belarus on the morning of October 11. The app is currently available,” the article stated.

“Grodnenskaya Pravda” reprinted this news on its website. “Minskaya Pravda” also noted that “the app is currently available again.” However, the state media did not emphasize that it is still impossible to order a taxi (despite the app being available).

As of the time of publication, there are no news stories about this issue on the websites of “SB. Belarus Today,” “Zvyazda,” or the ONT, STV, and “Belarus 1” television channels.
