Mayor Of Flooded Orsk Complains About Hard Life Of Family In Dubai

It's too hot there.

The mayor of flooded Orsk Vasily Kozupitsa said about the difficult living conditions in the UAE, where his family moved. This is how he reacted to an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Foundation, which discovered that shortly before the flooding in the city, the mayor's family had purchased a flat in Dubai for 33 million Russian rubles.

In a video address to the residents of the city, Kozupitsa said that his son was a geological engineer who had worked for ten years on Sakhalin "in the most difficult conditions" and "achieved everything on his own". Now, according to the Orsk mayor, his son has been invited to work in the UAE.

"There, by the way, it's not that nice either, it's very hot and the climate is very difficult. He is working there now. I am proud that my children achieve everything on their own, and I have never hidden it," said Kozupitsa. At the same time, he assured that his wife is staying with him and "going through these difficult times."

As the Anti-Corruption Foundation found out earlier, the son of the mayor, Nikolai Kozupitsa, together with his wife and children fled the country immediately after the announcement of mobilisation in September 2022.
