Regular troops are not ready to resist the volunteers.

Belarusian authorities are again calling people to military training camps. Including reserve officers. What are the Lukashists preparing for?

Charter97.org spoke to one of the reserve officers on condition of anonymity:

– They are putting the most significant emphasis on counter-sabotage actions. It’s clear that the statements of the Belarusian volunteers, let's say, made the authorities nervous.

The guys are sent to run through the forests, there are many field trips. They are training in “protection of settlements from saboteurs” too. They are playing with barbed wire, fencing off buildings. However, all these "excursions" end with shish kebabs and vodka. I read the media. They are talking about some serious preparations, but all this, to put it mildly, brings a smile.

A strong brainwashing is going on. They showed some kind of movie about Belarusian volunteers. Crazy RenTV made it.

– What do reserve officers say about Belarusian volunteers?

– The attitude is neutral-positive. The vast majority don't care. Those who participated in the protests say they have a positive attitude. Reserve officers will definitely not shoot at them. There is a popular opinion that "we, Belarusians, will come to an agreement with the Belarusians anyhow".

It is clear that this does not apply to those really crazy people from all sorts of the SOF (Special Operations Forces), "commandos" and some KGB officers. But to be realistic, there are also “well-known brave men” able only to gabbing women and children at protests, and beating bricks with their heads on July 3rd.

If the Belarusian volunteers beat everyone beautifully, the resistance will be minimal.

– An atmosphere of fear due to the possible deployment of the Belarusian forces to Ukraine prevailed previously in the training camps. Has anything really changed?

– I think that the topic is closed. There is another message that "someone will invade" - the Poles, Lithuanians, Americans or Ukrainian forces. There is a really strong propaganda all around. They emphasize that "there will be a civil war" and "some thugs are penetrating the country who will rob and kill."

– Does anyone believe in it?

– The vast majority are laughing. I can’t tell about those who get to the training camp, but reserve officers are for the most part people after the military department at the university. At least some critical thinking with higher education comes.

People are talking about scattering and choosing villages they will hide in.

– Do contract officers have the same opinion?

– It is completely loose folks. Judge for yourself: during the years of Lukashenka's rule, our officers have turned into small bureaucrats. They used to have soft jobs, early retirements and some subsidiary earnings. It's no secret that earlier conscripts could be "rented out" to some local factory or to build a general's country house.

Of course, these people are thinking about how to calmly serve until retirement, some kind of war or revolution is not in their interests. However, there will be no active opposition from their side. If they understand that the situation is changing, our officers will swear allegiance to both Pozniak and Joe Biden.

– What do they say about the possible coming of the Wagnerites to Belarus?

– They are suspicious about it. There were many conflicts Before the start of the war in Ukraine when there were tens of thousands of Russian soldiers in Belarus. There were fights.

Convicts and war criminals can come here. This culture is absolutely alien to our military. If, as they say, they will be instructors, then the AUE training methods, to put it mildly, may not suit our military. They can take revenge on such "instructors".

– We witnessed a military mutiny in Russia. Is something like that possible in Belarus?

– I can not imagine it In the form that it was in the Russian Federation. Perhaps a few top security officials could arrest or eliminate Lukashenka. Still, I think this scenario is also unlikely.

– Perhaps some ambitious officer could support the Kalinovites' campaign against Minsk. However, even here I am not so sure, because negative selection has done its job. In our case, the good thing is that these people are not ready for serious action. Look what happened in Russia. If there, let’s say, the security forces gave a crap after Prigozhin's decisive actions, ours will do even more, they will hide somewhere or try to break through the Russian border in cars.
