Biden Unexpectedly Agrees To Participate In Debate With Trump

The head of the White House changed his mind.

President of the United States of America Joe Biden has agreed to take part in the election debate with Donald Trump. The head of the White House changed his mind, after all, he had been refusing debates for several months.

This was reported by Reuters. The American leader did not announce the date when this could happen but stressed that he “would be happy to debate.”

"I am, somewhere. I don't know when. I'm happy to debate him (Trump — edit.),” Biden said.

Former US President Trump, who is again running for this position, responded to the statement of the current head of the White House on his social media Truth Social. He said he was ready for them “anytime, anywhere, anyplace.”

Trump called on Biden to meet for a debate in the courtroom, where one of the many lawsuits against the former president that he considers political persecution is being heard.

“In fact, let’s do the Debate at the Courthouse tonight — on National Television, I’ll wait around!” Trump wrote.

On April 15, a number of American media outlets wrote an open letter to Biden and Trump calling for a debate.

“General election debates have a rich tradition in our American democracy, having played a vital role in every presidential election of the past 50 years, dating to 1976. In each of those elections, tens of millions have tuned in to watch the candidates debating side by side, in a competition of ideas for the votes of

American citizens,” the letter said.

According to the American media, debates between presidential candidates “there is simply no substitute for the candidates debating with each other.”
