Reactor’s Cooling System Malfunctioned At BelNPP?

The ventilation system could have been installed with flaws.

The Nick & Mike Telegram channel reported receiving information about yet another emergency at the Belkarusian Nuclear Power Plant in Astravets.

“The other day there was another emergency situation at the Astravets NPP. The reactor cooling system malfunctioned. They tried to fix it manually - the triggered protection prevented the accident. But the nuclear power plant has stopped, and is now being repaired.

There are constant problems with the cooling system. It, like the ventilation system, has been installed with flaws, which now surface all the time.

All this makes it difficult to launch the nuclear power plant to operate at full power. The flaws of the cooling system must be eliminated, but no one seems to be in a hurry to do this. And there are few specialists. Russian nuclear specialists laugh at Belarusian salaries. They are too low for this area.”

The Telegram channel notes that information about the new state of emergency requires verification.

It is important to note that after the launch, the BelNPP reactor was shut down several times due to emergency situations caused by equipment defects.
