Political Scientist: Lukashenka Is Tabaqui The Jackal

He has no subjectivity.

Lukashenka said that he “will decide when to use nuclear weapons together with Putin”. He spoke about this at a meeting of the so-called All-Belarusian People’s Assembly.

Why did the Belarusian ruler again talk about using the atomic bomb, although recently in Moscow he called for sitting down at the negotiating table? The Charter97.org website spoke about this with Ukrainian political scientist, expert at the Ukrainian Center for Belarusian Communications Maxym Pleshko:

— Russia has one of the propaganda communication vectors to influence the world community — this is nuclear blackmail. In this situation, Lukashenka plays the role of a speaker who simply voices the topics assigned to him.

After BelTA, his statement was immediately picked up by Russian propaganda resources to support narratives about the nuclear threat. It is obvious that Lukashenka is not a subject when it comes to the use of nuclear weapons.

He is trying to demonstrate, they say, “look how serious I am, I will decide together with Putin.” He doesn’t decide anything and won’t decide anything.

I read and listened to Lukashenka’s quote several times, which reads: “The mechanism is not spelled out. We consult on how, when and where to apply it. This is our business with Putin. It’s written where it’s needed.” He says mutually exclusive things in one paragraph. I read his subsequent speech, where he remembers something, hints at something, but there is some kind of confusion and babble. There is no clarity, no confidence. Lukashenka has lied, is lying, and will lie. This is not speech, but a stream of consciousness from which propagandists snatch something.

I would also like to add that about a year ago the nuclear rhetoric of the Russian Federation went off scale. They were going to turn Britain, France and other countries into ashes. Then this rhetoric went down significantly.

There are versions that China and other powerful states that own nuclear weapons explained to Putin that “it cannot be allowed to use them and go beyond the scope of a conventional war.” After all, if you go beyond the limits, a “Pandora’s box” will open. There are many countries in the world that own nuclear weapons. Then the situation may get out of control.

You know, in this situation I remember The Jungle Book, where Shere Khan was and the jackal Tabaqui was running around him. Lukashenka barks just like Tabaqui.

Let me emphasize that the great countries of this world (USA, China) will try in every possible way to prevent the use of nuclear weapons. Therefore, the rhetoric of Putin and his propagandists has decreased, but they still maintain it at a certain level. Lukashenka croaked something today, and they picked it up. I wouldn't take his words seriously.

— Do you think that China can influence the situation?

— Maybe, but as for Lukashenka, he is not subjective in this game. The “nuclear baton” is not in his hands, he will not make decisions. Lukashenka is trying to attach himself to a serious topic, posing as a “serious player.” He always did this, trying to appear subjective, like, “Vladimir and I, this and that.”

— It is noteworthy that Moscow pulled Lukashenka back several times when he spoke about the use of nuclear weapons. Is this some kind of game on the part of the Kremlin? Or are Lukashenka’s statements about nuclear weapons his initiative?

— We can’t get inside Lukashenka’s head. The old man, who, I am sure, does not fully adequately perceive the world, has a certain stream of consciousness. He gets confused in one paragraph, and makes mistakes and gets out of the way in another. This is not worth paying attention to at all.

— Polish President Andrzej Duda said that Warsaw is considering the deployment of nuclear weapons on its territory under the Nuclear Sharing program. Would this be an effective response to the actions of Lukashenka and the Kremlin?

— It’s clear that this will not just be an effective, but a symmetrical response. Just as the Russians placed their nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, so the United States will place its weapons on the territory of its strategic ally. This is a completely symmetrical story.

If earlier Lukashenka imagined himself as some kind of nuclear Fuhrer, who “together with Vladimir” would now break through the Suwałki gap, then opposition to this situation appears. We all understand perfectly well the technological superiority of Western weapons and everything else.
