France Calls for Action against Airlines Bringing Migrants to Belarus

Earlier, France accused the Lukashenka family of human trafficking.

Secretary of State at the French Foreign Ministry, Clement Beaune, criticized the organized traffic of migrants from the Middle East to the EU through the territory of Belarus and stated the need for diplomatic steps from Brussels towards airlines and individual states, TASS reports.

“Our response in this situation must be impeccable, tough, and humane. Europeans should take measures with respect to air routes, airports, states and air carriers that allow the delivery of migrants to Belarus for their subsequent organized transportation to the European borders,” he said, speaking at a meeting of the Committee on European Affairs in the Senate (upper house of parliament) of France on Wednesday.

Beaune stressed that the EU would be required, in particular, diplomatic steps towards Turkey and the UAE, in cooperation with which, according to him, the top leadership of Belarus allegedly organized the delivery of migrants from the Middle East to their territory, and then their transfer to the neighboring Baltic countries and Poland. Lukashenka wants to drive us into a trap, as Turkey did before, to tell us: “You don’t want migrants, you are treating them badly, you don’t respect the great principles that you are talking about,” the Secretary of State said.
