"Question To Belnautakhim, They Don't Give Us Fuel"

Lukoil explains the limitation of fuel sales at the petrol stations.

On February 4, it became known that some Lukoil petrol stations in Belarus had introduced limits on fuel sales. Intex-press has learned whether there are such limits in Baranavichy.

The information about the fuel limits was confirmed only at the petrol station № 20, located near Pramyslovaya Street, while there are four Lukoil petrol stations in the town. It was explained there that the limits were introduced on February 4 and concern diesel fuel: they sell no more than 100 liters. The limits do not depend on the type of transport, and it's not known for how long they will operate. The reason for such restrictions was not reported.

The petrol stations № 17 (Slonim Highway street), № 18 (Lenin street) and № 16 (Telman street) answered that there were no limits. Meanwhile, yesterday the media reported that it was the petrol station № 17 that imposed restrictions on fuel sales.

The central office of Lukoil in Minsk confirmed the information about the introduction of limits on the sale of "diesel". The reason was the shortage of fuel. It's not known how long the restrictions will last.

- This is a question to Belnautakhim, they do not give us fuel, - the office of the company answered.

Belnautakhim explained that the introduction of limits at filling stations is "abuse of rights": neither the government nor Belnautakhim has introduced any such measures. There's no shortage of fuel: there's enough fuel for the domestic market of Belarus.

- Introduction of limits at a number of Lukoil petrol stations is close to provocation. This can be regarded as an attempt to create a feverish demand, there are no other options, - Aliaksandr Tsishchanka, spokesman for the concern, said.

Lukoil is a Russian oil company. It owns more than 6000 petrol stations in different countries, including Belarus.

Since 2020, almost all Russian oil companies have stopped supplying oil to Belarus due to price discrepancies. Minsk insists on abolishing the premium to the price of duty-free oil supplies, motivating it by increasing the price of raw materials due to the implementation of the tax maneuver in the Russian oil sector. The parties have not yet come to a compromise.
