Authorities Established Working Days For Unemployed

What should a Belarusian do to get unemployment benefit?

Traditionally, at the end of the year, the executive authorities determine how many days the unemployed have to work on paid public works in the coming year. The relevant decisions are posted on the website of the National Legal Register and come into force after publication.

The Hard-Hitting News has studied these documents.

For example, according to the decision of Homel city executive committee, unemployed Homel citizens, officially registered as such, are obliged to work 20 working days in 2020. Among them: in January, February, March, April, November and December - 1 day, May, June, July and October - 2 days, and 3 days in August and September.

For the unemployed of Homel district, the local authorities have established 24 days of work - 2 days a month. The same norm was established for the unemployed in Petryki and Karma districts.

The norm of participating in paid public works for the unemployed in Zhlobin district is 28 days. The same number of working days is determined for the unemployed of Kalinkavichy district.

The unemployed of Mazyr district have a less busy schedule, they have to work only 20 days. But the authorities of Yelsk district decided that their unemployed should work 34 days next year. And from June to September - 5 days a month.

The district executive committee of Loyeu district established a gentle regime of working days for its unemployed - only 15 days.
