Almost All Charges Against Dzmitry Paliyenka Dropped
DZMITRY PALIYENKA

The political prisoner will only be tried under one article out of four.

It became known that only "spraying pepper gas in the man's face" (Art. 339 - "particularly malignant hooliganism") will be considered in Dzmitry Paliyenka's case, the previous charges under Art. 341 of the Criminal Code (graffiti in Kurapaty and on the building in Akhotskaya Street), part 1, Article 130 (inciting hatred towards police officers in a video on youtube), and Article 369 (insulting former Interior Minister Ihar Shunevich in a video) have been dropped. The prosecutor's office abandoned them, the website of Human Rights Centre Viasna reports.

This information was confirmed by the political prisoner's lawyer. According to Paliyenka's lawyer Tatsiana Lishenkova, the prosecutor dropped all charges, except for the particularly malignant hooliganism. Dzmitry Paliyenka says he does not plead guilty.

We remind that the Minsk city court continued the consideration of the case against activist Dzmitry Paliyenka today. At the beginning of the trial, the political prisoner cut his veins in protest. After that, the trial was made public.
