Pierce Brosnan Revealed Who Could Be The Next James Bond

The casting should surprise the audience.

Actor Pierce Brosnan believes that the next James Bond could be an actor who isn't currently in the spotlight. The actor, who played Agent 007 in four films, is confident that the makers of the new movie are capable of passing over the obvious candidates and making an unexpected choice, according to Variety.

“There are many good contenders and plenty of excellent actors. They may very well go in a completely unexpected direction and choose someone none of us even knows about,” Brosnan said in an interview with The Times.

The actor declined to name any specific favorites. According to him, his wife even asked him not to get involved in the casting discussion, since any speculation on his part would instantly be picked up by the media.

Brosnan played James Bond in four films from 1995 to 2002, starting with *GoldenEye* and ending with *Die Another Day*. However, he doesn’t want to rewatch his own 007 films right now.

“I’m just a viewer now, waiting for the next Bond and wishing him luck,” the actor admitted.

The new Bond film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve. Amazon MGM Studios has already hired casting director Nina Gold, who has worked on “The Crown,” several “Star Wars” films, “The Martian,” and “Conclave.”

No official decision has been made yet regarding the lead role. Among the actors the media has named as contenders are Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Harris Dickinson, and Jack Lowden.

Brosnan himself has previously joked that he might return to the role of an aging Bond. In 2025, he said he would gladly consider a proposal from Villeneuve, even if the role required a wig and prosthetics.

Now, the actor is more inclined to watch and see who will be chosen to succeed him and Daniel Craig.
