Cars From "Mad Max" Are Now On Sale

Official replicas of the car are assembled in Australia.

Official replicas of cars from *Mad Max* have been released for the first time... The Australian company Mad Max Factory received permission from franchise creator George Miller and producer Doug Mitchell and has released its first collection of 25 cars, according to Autoblog.

Buyers can choose from 20 models that appeared in the four films—from the original “Mad Max” to “Furiosa.” All cars are assembled in Australia, with the aim of replicating the appearance and character of the vehicles from the movies as closely as possible.

“We wanted to preserve their functionality, ruggedness, and the feel of a real car,” said Mad Max Factory director Giuseppe Cassin.

The most expensive model is the famous Pursuit Special Interceptor, which Max Rockatansky drove in the first movie. The replica is based on a 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT and costs 395,000 Australian dollars, or about $283,000.

The price includes sourcing a suitable original vehicle, a complete restoration of the body and chassis, exterior modifications, the engine, interior, electrical system, and delivery.

The most affordable cars cost $140,000. Among them are the VW Rod, Prince Valiant, Dodge Charger, Cranky Frank, the V12 Elvis from *Mad Max: Fury Road*, and the V8 Pursuit from *Furiosa*.

Build time ranges from six to 18 months, depending on the configuration. Owners can also order custom modifications, although some of these may render the car unfit for public roads.
