"Do You Want A Civil War? You'll Get One."

The last name of the Russian soldier's mother, who foreshadowed a mutiny in her appeal to Putin, has been revealed.

Tatyana Sterkhova, the mother of one of the Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine, recorded an emotional appeal to Vladimir Putin, in which she accused the president of murdering her son, complained about corruption on the front lines, and warned of the threat of civil war.

“I buried my son just the other day. What on earth is going on in our Russia? Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, what are you doing? You’re burying our boys! You’re burying them, you’re killing them,” says the woman in a video published by “Kholod”.

According to Sterkhova, she waited a year and eight months for her son. “They brought him back without a head,” the woman says. “Do you want a civil war? It looks like you’ll get one soon.”

According to the woman, the authorities have “stirred up the people,” and they now “don’t want to go to the polls.” She complains that she cannot receive the “meager funeral allowance” of 60,000 rubles because the military registration and enlistment office is demanding the “original certificate,” which they took from her in order to issue the death certificate.

“They say mobilization is coming soon; I’ll fight tooth and nail—I won’t give up my second son. I won’t give him up!” the woman shouts. “Mothers, rise up, rise up,” she continues. “Why are they killing our sons? This is a mockery! Putin, when will you put an end to all this, when will you get rid of your jackals everywhere and all over the place?”

The woman also speaks about the rampant corruption in the army and commanders who “line their pockets” by demanding money from soldiers in exchange for not sending them to the front lines or granting them leave. “Want leave? Pay up! Don’t want to go to the front—pay up! How many more are you going to destroy? Are your jackals, you f***ing officers, going to keep profiting off our sons, off our tears? Enough already, enough!” the woman shouts.

According to estimates by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), as of June 2026, the Russian army in Ukraine had lost 1.4 million people killed, wounded, or missing in action. Of that number, at least 450,000 were killed.
