Ukraine And Russia Exchange Prisoners Via Belarus

Ukraine and Russia have exchanged prisoners of war. Each side released 200 people. It is reported that the exchange took place on March 5 through the territory of Belarus.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said in his Telegram channel that "200 Ukrainian families received the most long-awaited message - their relatives are coming home." According to him, among those released are defenders of Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhya regions, as well as servicemen of the Armed Forces, the State Special Transport Service, border guards and national guardsmen.

Zelensky also thanked the United States for its support in organizing the exchange.

In turn, the Russian Defense Ministry reported the return of 200 Russian servicemen. It is traditionally noted that they are on the territory of Belarus, where they are provided with the necessary psychological and medical assistance.
