60 explosions in two hours, Russians hiding in basements, fires raging at strategic sites.
The night of March 5 was a real test for Russia's strategic facilities in the Saratov region.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Russian media.
More than sixty powerful explosions took place over Saratov and Engels, where the strategic aviation airfield is located. While local authorities are trying to calm the population, fires are blazing in the region and some neighborhoods have been left without light.
The drone attack began around 23:00 and lasted for several hours straight. According to eyewitnesses, the sky over the cities was literally "glowing" from explosions and air defense work, but the arrivals could not be avoided.

Scale: Local residents counted at least 60 detonations.
Consequences: A large-scale fire broke out in a Saratov neighborhood that could not be tamed for several hours.
Blackout: Both cities were partially left without power due to damaged transmission lines.
The region's governor, Roman Busargin, has already called the attack "the most massive of the year." According to official reports, civilian infrastructure has been damaged and there are three injured.
Main targets: refinery and airbase
Although the Russian Defense Ministry said 48 drones were shot down, Ukrainian monitoring resources report successful hits:
Saratov refinery: An active attack on the refinery, accompanied by a massive fire, is reported.
Engels-2 airfield: The city of Engels is a base for Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers. Any drone activity in the area is critical for Russian aviation.
The situation in the region remains tense, emergency services continue to remove debris and eliminate the consequences of "arrivals".
