Belgium has posted a bail of 10 million euros for the Russian oil tanker Ethera, which was detained on Sunday, the Belgian government reported .

"Forty-five irregularities, mainly invalid certificates, were detected, which came to light after the vessel was found to be flying the wrongfully declared flag of Guinea," the North Sea ministry said in a statement.

Ethera will only be able to put to sea after paying a sum of money and confirming on re-inspection its compliance with regulations, including flagging the state, obtaining valid certificates and rectifying technical faults.
