US ATACMS Strike Sinks Russian-made Submarine In Iran

It is about the submarine of the project "Varshavyanka".

A Russian-made Project Varshavyanka submarine sank as a result of a US Army TACtical Missile System (ATACMS) missile strike on the Bandar Abbas naval base in Iran. This is reported by TWZ.

"The submarine [Project Varshavyanka] is among the Iranian naval vessels hit by U.S. forces with ATACMS short-range ballistic missiles. ATACMS cannot engage moving targets, so the submarine must have been in port at the time of the hit," the publication wrote.

The destruction of the Iranian submarine by the ATACMS strike was announced by General General Dan Kane, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff.

"In just the first 13 days of this operation, our artillery forces made history. They fired the first high-precision rockets in combat history, hitting targets deep in enemy territory.... They used the Army's ATACMS missile systems to sink several ships, including a submarine," Kane reported.

TWZ reported that the submarine in question was the Project Varshavyanka submarine, not the other subs available to the Iranian Navy - the Project Fateh and Ghadir submarines.
