Trump: Putin Is Afraid Of Us

U.S. president believes Russian dictator is intimidated by U.S. military forces.

American President Donald Trump said Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is afraid of the United States of America.

"You can ask Putin. Putin is afraid of us. He is not afraid of Europe in any way. He's afraid of the United States and the military that I created during my first term," Trump said while speaking to reporters at the White House on Monday, March 16.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky earlier said Putin is only afraid of Trump, not Europeans.

"Putin is only afraid of Trump, that's the reality. What Trump has to say to Putin is not for me to decide. The American president wants to stop this war with compromises. We supported these proposals, but there can be no compromise on our sovereignty. Putin is not afraid of the Europeans," the Ukrainian president noted.

On March 10, Donald Trump said he had a "very good conversation" with Putin about the war against Ukraine and the conflict in the Middle East.

"There is a huge hatred between President Putin and President Zelensky. They can't seem to agree, but I think it was a positive conversation on that topic," Trump said.

The American leader also said he was surprised by Vladimir Zelensky's "unwillingness" to make a peace deal because "Putin is willing to negotiate."
