Cuba Is Next?

Trump hinted at imminent U.S. action against the communist regime.

U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States could soon reach an agreement with Cuba or take other steps, hinting at the possibility of a quick change in the long-struggling relationship. He said the U.S. is currently in talks with Cuba but prioritized Iran, Reuters reported.

"Cuba is also interested in an agreement, and I believe we will either reach an agreement or take the necessary steps soon," Trump said.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel confirmed that his country has begun talks with the United States amid one of the worst economic crises in recent decades, the publication reported. The dialogue aims to find a solution and overcome bilateral differences between the states.

It is noted that the economic crisis in Cuba has intensified due to disruptions in the supply of oil, on which the work of power plants and transportation system depends. The authorities have been forced to introduce fan blackouts across the country and limit some public services.
