The President of Ukraine spoke about the situation on the front.
Russian troops are now unable to advance with equipment, but are only attempting infiltration in small groups. At the same time, Russia has no desire to end the war.
Of this, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced while talking to journalists.
"The Russians have drowned in this spring campaign as planned. They have not been able to go on the offensive. They are making offensive actions, but they are all the same - infiltration attempts and so on. They can't get through anywhere with equipment - we burn equipment," Zelensky said.
According to him, the occupants do not have any large-scale operation, although in different parts of the front with infiltration tactics, constant assaults they are still trying to act. However, Ukrainian soldiers destroy them
The Ukrainian president noted that among the reasons for the failure of the Russian offensive were the successful operation in Kupyansk in 2025, as well as the current operation in the south of the country.
"We saw how they began to move troops from the Donetsk direction here (to the south - ed.), because they were afraid that the AFU would go further than these 430 kilometers," Zelensky said.
At the same time, he emphasized that the Russians' failures do not mean that they have abandoned plans to continue aggression.
The president said that now there is information that the invaders will try to continue offensive operations in the Zaporizhzhya, Pokrovsk, and Gulyaipol directions.
"All this will remain. They will pull back after Kupyansk and will want to go to Kupyansk again. Absolutely understandable things. What is happening in Sumshchyna, Chernigov region - these are just some demonstrations, there are no forces there yet. They transferred everyone from there to Donbas, and then from Donbas to Gulyaypol, to the south. So far," Zelensky added.
He also said that intelligence showed him Russian maps, where it is crossed out in red what they want to seize in 2026-2027.
"This shows that they definitely have no thoughts about stopping the war. Why do we react so much to this or that leader saying that Putin wants to end the war? He doesn't. Otherwise his cards must be different. The money should go to increase funding for infrastructure, not to increase production of missiles," the head of state emphasized.
