Is Iran's New Supreme Leader Alive?
Mojtaba Khamenei

If Mojtaba Khamenei is still alive, he should surrender.

White House chief of staff Donald Trump has cast doubt on whether Iran's new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei is alive. The reason for the doubts was that Khamenei did not appear on camera on Thursday.

This was reported by NBC News.

Mojtaba Khamenei on March 13 posted in writing online his first statement as Iran's leader, instead of appearing on camera to voice it. This is what sparked rumors that he might be dead.

In the written statement, Khamenei, the son of slain predecessor Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, vowed to continue blockading the Strait of Hormuz and attacking U.S. allies in the region.

"I don't know if he is even alive. Nobody has been able to show him yet," Trump said on Saturday.

Although the US president called information about the possible death of Iran's leader a rumor, he did say the following:

"I'm hearing that he's not alive, and if he is alive, he should do something very sensible for his country, which is to surrender," Trump said.

It should be noted that the day before the head of the Pentagon Pete Hegseth said that the younger Khamenei was wounded and possibly mutilated, he also called his written statement weak.

Remember, on March 13, Pete Hegseth said that the health condition of Mojtaba Khamenei may be much more serious than they say. Indeed, he expressed his statement in writing without appearing on camera or providing at least a recording of it.

Mojtaba Khamenei was wounded during a U.S. operation to eliminate Iran's then-leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It is speculated that he may have injured his legs.
