White House Chief of Staff Donald Trump promises to renew oil sanctions against Russia if the crisis in the energy market passes and prices stabilize.

The American leader, when asked about his decision to temporarily lift some sanctions against Russia (related to oil), said:

"I want the world to have oil. I want to have oil," he said.

Trump added that sanctions that have been imposed against Moscow since early 2022, i.e. after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, "will come back as soon as the crisis is over."
